Description:"The following tables represent effort, retained catch (kept), and discards (released) as reported on longline log sheets for the Hawaii limited-access longline fishery. To satisfy confidentiality RFMO reporting standards, data from the California-based longline fishery is also included in this report. Effort-and-catch statistics are summarized from logbook data submitted to the PIFSC, FRMD and are based on date of longline haul. The statistics originate from an Oracle table LLDS_REPORT_STATS_HICA database extraction done on 22 June 2016. When a statistic (number of vessels, trips) can involve dates of haul in 2 summary periods (i.e. years, semi-annual, quarters) the item is counted in both summary periods. Thus, a trip total is for "partial and completed" trips. As such, these are not additive statistics (i.e. sum of 4 quarters is not the total for the year, etc)"--Page 1.
