Description:"This paper depicts in a graphical manner the skill of the Medium Range (3-10 day) Forecast Group (MRFG) man and machine (numerical model guidance) forecasts. It will be updated each February in order to present the latest scores for each of the several forecast categories in the MRFG. Only scores with at least a 5-year period of record will be presented. Hence, this paper contains the standardized and unstandardized mean sea level pressure and 500- mb correlation; the Gilman, Hughes, and experimental precipitation; the minimum/maximum absolute temperature error; and the mean temperature and precipitation scores. Subsequent updates to this note will also include the mean 500-mb correlation and Brier precipitation scores"--Purpose.
