Description:

"This report covers the Imager and Sounder instruments, but not the solar/space instruments. System performance and operational testing of the spacecraft and instrumentation was performed as part of the PLT. During the Science Test, GOES-13 was operated in a special test mode, where the default schedule involved routine emulation of GOES-east or GOES-west operations. Numerous other scan schedules and sectors were constructed and used for both the Imager and the Sounder. GOES-13 was then placed into storage mode on 5 January 2007. Current plans call for GOES-13 not to become operational until it would most likely replace GOES-12, GOES-12 is currently in the GOES-east position, and GOES-11 is in the GOES-west position."
