September 2009 recommendations from the Marine Protected Areas Federal Advisory Committee (MPA FAC), for evaluating the U.S. National System of Marine Protected Areas. The recommendations were passed by the MPA FAC at its meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, September 9-11, 2009. The tool is presented as a component of adaptive management, and is recommended to NOAA and the Department of the Interior (DOI) as an evaluation tool for improved effectiveness and increased progress toward the achievement of the National System's goals and objectives.
