Description:"The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is adopting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' (Corps') Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Corps' issuance of Nationwide Permit (NWP) 27. The Corps' EA is contained within its Decision Document dated February 13, 2012. NOAA is adopting the Corps' EA because NOAA finds that the Corps' analysis supports NOAA's proposed action to approve funding for the Nueces Delta Freshwater Inflow Management (NDFIM) project pursuant to Section 306A of the Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA). The NDFIM project aims to restore Nueces Delta by constructing a water control structure in Rincon Bayou to restore freshwater inflows to the delta. The Coastal Bend Bays and Estuarties Program (CBBEP) will conduct NDFIM project activities under the supervision of the Texas General Land Office. On November 27, 2012, the Corps' Corpus Christi Regulatory Field Office issued Permit No. SWG-2012-00872, NWP Verifictaion, to CBBEP, confirming that the NDFIM project is consistent with NWP 27 as long as general regional conditions and state best management practices are followed"--Summary from cover letter.
