Description:

The Virginia In-Water Boat Expo ("the Show") was initiated in 2005. The three-day Show, centered at Norfolk's "Town Point Park/' is co-owned and operated by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, Inc. ("NMMA") and the Norfolk Festevents ("Festevents"). This study has been completed on behalf of both organizations to evaluate the economic activity arising from the Show and report findings relative to its future. Based upon the information gathered from NMMA and Festevents, the author's knowledge of the region's marine industry, and implementation of conventional input-output modeling techniques, the economic impacts of the Show have been estimated.
