Description:"NOAA/ National Weather Service (NWS) Real Time Ocean Forecast System (RTOFS) and United States Navy (USN) global Navy Coupled Ocean Model (G-NCOM) salinity and water temperature forecast guidance were compared with the observations from the Global Temperature and Salinity Profile Program (GSTPP) archived at the National Buoy Data Center (NBDC) in water temperature and salinity assess (TESAC) format. No water current observations were available for model comparison so the World Ocean Atlas (2001) climatologically based thermal wind equation derived velocities were used in addition to tidally reconstructed water current signals from the ADCIRC tidal inversion"--Abstract.
