  • Description:
Signed 7/23/2018; Expires 5 years after signature, but may be extended by the mutual written consent of the Participants. The Participants enter into this MOU to establish the terms and conditions of their cooperation with respect to the KO MPS A T-5 earth satellite mission. This MOU establishes a cooperative framework for NOAA-NESDIS, KARI, and KASI to provide mutually beneficial services and data that will enhance each Participant's respective mission by providing new mission capabilities that would not be readily achievable without this cooperation. Data from KOMPSAT-5's radio occultation (RO) payload instrument are of mutual benefit for operational and research use by NOAA-NESDIS and its fellow organizational components such as the National Weather Service, and by KARI, KASI, and other Korean organizations, such as the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), in the areas of weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and space weather prediction. Project implementation details including RF downlink specifics, data format and communication interfaces, identification and scheduling of remote tracking stations and coordination of daily operations will be identified, and documentation will be jointly created by the Participants,.
