Description:May 2008 recommendations to Under Secretary of Commerce Conrad C. Lautenbacher and Deputy Assistant secretary of the Interior Kaush Arha from the Marine Protected Areas Federal Advisory Committee. Recommendations address: 1. management principles regarding compliance and enforcement of MPA regulations, and 2. collective comments from the MPA FAC on the Revised Draft Framework for Developing a National System of Marine Protected Areas. Recommendations are intended to assist the Department of Commerce and the Department of the Interior with developing an effective national system of MPAs.
